Step 1: Open the Checkout Extension Widget Settings
From the dashboard, ensure the customer is in a logged‑in state and you are redirected to the main dashboard screen. In the dashboard, locate the Widget section and open it.
Inside the widget area, look for the Checkout Extension option. Click the Customize button to open its configuration settings.
Step 2: Configure Loyalty Section Visibility and Text
Within the checkout extension settings, navigate to the Loyalty configuration tab (alongside General, Rewards, Store Credits, and VIP Tiers).
Enable the visibility option for the Loyalty section so that loyalty information appears on the store checkout page. You can then configure the display text:
Set the main title for the loyalty section.
Set the “no balance” title/message that appears when a user has no points.
Add a description explaining the loyalty program or benefits.
Configure the Redeem button label text.
In the Ways to Redeem section, define the available redemption programs, for example:
“$10 coupon for 40 points”
“$20 coupon for 80 points”
These determine how many points are deducted and what coupon value the user receives.
When finished, click Save to store your loyalty configuration.
Step 3: Sign In as a Customer and Add a Product to Cart
Go to the storefront. On the store site, sign in as a customer (for example, john@outmail...).
After signing in, add a product to the cart so you can proceed to checkout and view the loyalty section.
Step 4: Verify Loyalty Points Display and Redeem Options at Checkout
At checkout, confirm that the loyalty section appears as configured:
The congratulatory text such as “Congratulations, you have won 91 points” is shown, based on the settings defined in the checkout extension.
The description text matches what you configured in the checkout extension.
The Redeem button label matches your configuration.
The available programs (e.g., “$10 for 40 points”, “$20 for 80 points”) are listed as redeem options.
Click the Redeem button for a chosen program (e.g., $10 for 40 points).
Confirm that:
The user’s points balance is updated (for example, reduced to 151 points after redeeming 40 points).
A coupon code is generated and displayed to the user.
This coupon can then be applied directly to the checkout to discount the order total.
Step 5: Check Coupon and Redemption History in the 99minds Admin
Open the 1990s admin interface to verify the redemption details.
Navigate to the Customers section and locate the customer (e.g., John).
Search for the customer by name or email (e.g., john@...).
View the customer’s recent coupons and redemptions.
You should see the newly generated coupon (e.g., a $10 coupon) associated with John, including the current timestamp.
Confirm that:
The coupon was created from redeeming 40 loyalty points.
The coupon code suffix (e.g., ending with “EIW”) matches what is shown on the checkout.
The redemption history shows an entry from the widget, indicating 40 points were redeemed.
Step 6: Use and Monitor Loyalty Redemptions
Use the redemption history in the 99minds admin to track loyalty redemptions from the checkout extension and ensure coupons are being correctly generated and applied at checkout.
