Step 1: Open Widget Settings in the 99minds Dashboard
Ensure you are logged in to the 99minds dashboard and on the main dashboard screen.
Locate and open the Widget Settings section where the Loyalty widget configuration is available.
Step 2: Access the Loyalty Widget Birthday Settings
In the widget settings, select the Loyalty Widget configuration.
Go to the Customize section and look for the Birthday Rewards option.
Click on Birthday Rewards to open its detailed settings.
Step 3: Enable Restriction for Birthday Updates on the Widget
Within the Birthday Rewards settings, locate the toggle labeled Restrict Birthday Updates.
Enable this toggle to prevent users from updating their birthdate via the Loyalty widget.
After enabling, click Save to apply the changes.
Step 4: Verify Restriction on the Loyalty Widget in the Storefront
Go to your Shopify store page where the Loyalty widget is embedded.
Log in to the Loyalty widget with a valid user account.
In the widget, open the Rise to Earn section and then select Birthday Rewards.
Confirm that the birthday field is disabled and cannot be updated when Restrict Birthday Updates is enabled in 99minds.
If you later disable this setting in 99minds, the birthday field in the widget will become editable again.
Step 5: Verify and Control Birthday Updates on the Loyalty Page
Open the Loyalty Page on your storefront.
Log in with valid user credentials.
Locate the Birthday or Birthday Rewards section, usually under Rise to Earn.
Check that the birthday field is also disabled here when Restrict Birthday Updates is enabled in 99minds.
If you disable the restriction in 99minds, users will be able to update their birthday on both the Loyalty page and the Loyalty widget.
