How to Issue loyalty points for Order Placed

Setting Up Earning Flow in The 99 Minds

Updated over 2 months ago

In this guide, we will walk you through the process of setting up an earning flow in The 99 Minds application. This involves creating workflows that trigger when an order is paid, and subsequently issuing loyalty points to customers based on predefined conditions.

Step 1

Ensure you are logged in to The 99 Minds and redirected to the dashboard. From there, locate and check the left-side menu bar.

Step 2

Navigate to the Workflow tabs and select All Workflow. We will configure the earning flow for the "Order Paid" trigger by creating a new workflow.

Step 3

Begin by creating a new workflow. Choose the option to Create a Custom Workflow.

Step 4

Select "Order Paid" as the trigger. You can add conditions, such as the total order amount.

Step 5

Choose from multiple conditions. For this example, select Total Price, indicating that the total amount paid, including shipping and taxes, is greater than or equal to 50.

Step 6

Assign an action to the workflow. You have various action options to choose from.

Step 7

For this scenario, select Issue Loyalty Points as the action. Other options include Store Credit and Gift Card, but we will proceed with issuing loyalty points.

Step 8

Select the type of loyalty points, such as Fixed. For a fixed amount, set a specific point value.

Step 9

For an order paid amount of 50, you can set the loyalty point earning to 20. Alternatively, you can configure it as a percentage, such as 10% of the total order price.

Step 10

For the "For Every" option, set a ratio, such as one-to-one, for the reward points.

Step 11

Here's an example: Reward one loyalty point for every dollar spent. If a customer places a $50 order, they will earn 50 loyalty points.

Step 12

For illustration purposes, use a fixed ratio and set the reward sum to 20 points. After completing the setup, click on Save Workflow.

Step 13

Provide a title for the workflow, such as "Earn Loyalty Points for Order Paid."

Step 14

Setting a title is optional but recommended for organizational purposes.

Step 15

Click on Save to finalize the flow creation. Close the tab and verify the workflow.

Step 16

The flow "Earn Loyalty Points for Order Paid" has been created. You now have two options.

Step 17

You can disable the workflow if needed. Ensure it remains enabled for execution, which is the active state.

Step 18

After setting up the workflow, navigate back to the dashboard and proceed to the Shopify store.

Step 19

Place an order for any product. For this example, select a blue snowboard.

Step 20

Proceed to purchase by clicking Buy It Now.

Step 21

Fill in all required details, such as customer information, shipping address, and shipping method.

Step 22

Log in as a customer and use test card details for payment.

Step 23

For demonstration, use a dummy card for testing. Click on Pay Now. Once the order is paid, the customer will receive loyalty points as configured in the workflow.

Step 24

Verify the process by navigating to The 99 Minds and opening the Workflow tab. Review the events that were set up.

Step 25

Locate the Order Paid event and check the current event with its timestamp.

Step 26

Open the event and examine the action. Confirm that the loyalty points have been successfully issued.

Step 27

Access the customer profile and view the details of the issued loyalty points. The 20 points should be reflected with the corresponding timestamp.

Step 28

This concludes the setup of the earning flow in The 99 Minds for the "Order Paid" trigger. Thank you for following along.
